Cake Care

Different cakes have different requirements, but the basics are the same. They are quite delicate, don’t like being squeezed, don’t like being warm and don’t like to move around. Here are some simple cake care instructions.

Collection

When carrying your cake, please place both hands underneath the cake to support the cake and the board.

The best place to position your order in your vehicle is on a flat surface, preferably the boot. If this isn’t an option, please bring something to support the box on the seat (e.g towels) so that the cake is sitting flat and secure.

Please don’t leave your order in the car for longer than it needs to be.

Storage

Keep the cake in a cool dry location and away from direct sunlight.

For fondant covered cakes and cakes with sugar flowers or fondant figurines, please don’t put the cake in the fridge until after cutting. The flowers and/or figurines will go soft and sticky in the fridge.

If you wish to keep the flowers and/or figurines as a keepsake, simply remove them from the cake and store in a cardboard box in a dry area.

After cutting the cake, wrap in gladwrap and store in the fridge. Bring to room temperature before eating.

Cupcakes are best eaten within 3 days.

Other

All cakes will have the appropriate support and structure required. Care instructions will be provided.

Kombi Cakes cannot be held responsible for damage to the order after delivery or pick up.
